  • Our annual Spike for Charity sand volleyball tournament is a fundraiser for IICF's Heartland Community Grants Program, 
    benefiting local nonprofit organizations working to uplift the health, safety, and education of our communities.

    • Team Composition: Each team consists of six players on the court, and at least one of them must be female at all times. Teams can have additional players as substitutes if they choose.
    • Scoring System: Rally scoring is used, meaning a point is scored on every serve.
    • Serve: The server must serve from behind the end line and can serve from anywhere along the width of the court. The serve must clear the net and land within the opponent's court boundaries.
    • Rotation: Teams must rotate positions clockwise each time they win the serve from the opposing team. The rotation must ensure that at least one female player is on the court.
    • Hits: Each team is allowed up to three successive hits to return the ball over the net. A block does not count as one of these three hits.
    • Net Rules: Players cannot touch the net during play. If a player touches the net, it results in a point for the opposing team.
    • Ball Handling: Players must use clean hits. Carrying, palming, or throwing the ball is not allowed.
    • Substitutions: Substitutions can be made during stoppages in play, but players must rotate in and out of the same position. The rule of having at least one female on the court must be maintained

    • Participation and play is at your own risk. All attendees must sign a waiver upon arrival.
    • No outside food or drinks allowed other than water bottles.  Each attendee will receive 1 food ticket and 2 drink tickets, which can be used on any beverage offered by the venue.  Tap water provided by venue.
    • No smoking on the volleyball courts or deck / No pets allowed.
